and request for top-up of funds

Amount sent: US$ 100,000

With this notification of the payment of Rapid Response Funds, the ACT Coordinating Office requests contributions from donors to replenish the Rapid Response Fund. This will enable a response to future requests for these funds.

Emergency: The current state of emergency in Kenya caused by widespread civil unrest and violent conflict following the announcement of disputed Presidential elections results.

Date of Emergency: December 30, 2007                  

Implementing Members: The ACT Kenya Forum (AKF) has identified humanitarian gaps in the five most affected regions of the country and is putting in place a response structure amongst the members to respond through implementing partners in these regions. In this RRF some members will play an implementing role, while others will play a supportive role through technical support especially in the area of monitoring. Church World Service (CWS) East Africa will enter into individual agreements with the implementing partner/s in relation to the specific funds to be transferred to the respective partner.
