Work in emergencies

The ACT Coordinating Office does NOT recruit staff for work in emergencies, nor does it identify and send volunteers to work in emergencies.

Most ACT members are national churches and/or national relief agencies that rarely, if ever, employ international staff or host expatriate volunteers.

Some ACT members are international agencies (NGOs) and occasionally employ staff for emergency operations in the country where a disaster response in taking place. Some of these agencies do also send a limited numbers of volunteers to work in the post-crisis phase of emergencies. Please search the Web sites of these agencies in the ACT members section to find out about possibilities for jobs and/or volunteer opportunities with these respective members.

Due to other pressing tasks, the ACT Coordinating Office cannot answer requests concerning job opportunities nor possibilities for volunteers in emergencies.

Thank you for your understanding.
